Who doesn’t love a touch of newness as we start the new year. Saying farewell to the glitz and glam of the Christmas season and looking ahead with a sense of renewal.

Houzz, the online home design and renovation site, has unveiled its anticipated forecasts for home design trends in the upcoming year, while Pinterest has revealed their hotly anticipated Pinterest Predicts trends.

Now, we’re not suggesting you need to embrace all of 2024’s interior trends. Take a considered approach and see what ones capture your attention, looking at those that will make a difference in your home and refresh your existing space.

Home comfort

We’re all about comfort in the home, incorporating soft textures and colours while retaining practicality and function.

Houzz predicts that “Curved shapes, arches, soft textures and squashy furniture are all set to be big in interiors next year, putting the emphasis firmly on comfort in the home.”

We don’t need to be told twice about dialling up the comfort factor. Our window treatments can emphasise this mood, and are available in an array of finishes including natural linens and warming wood grains.

Head to glow

We highlighted in last year’s trends blog about wellness in the home and how we’re all investing more in self care. The wellness trend isn’t going away anytime soon.

One of Pinterest’s 2024 trends, Head to Glow, affirms that in-home spa experiences will be on the rise, backed up by their data that shows searches for ‘spa aesthetic’ are up 60%.

We’ve got a whole news post dedicated to Spathrooms - all the ways you can update and tweak your bathroom to create a sanctuary in the heart of your home.

Hot Metals

Looking to trade in your neutrals for something a little edgier? Pinterest forecasts that metallics will make their way into the mainstream in 2024.

No one knows metal blinds like Luxaflex®! For over 70 years we have led the market with innovative products including the first Metal Venetian Blind.

Crafted from recycled aluminium, our made to measure Venetian Blinds embody the sophistication and eco-friendly features sought after in today's homes.

Incorporate modern touches to this design classic including PowerView® automation, our motorised blinds technology.

Naturescapes

We’re all about bringing nature into our homes, adding a sense of calm and serenity.

Victoria Harrison, Editor at Houzz adds: "As an evolution of the trend for bringing nature into the home, large-scale wallpaper naturescapes were spotted at this year’s Decorex show and are weaving their way into homes on Houzz.”

“Tapping into the desire for a connection to the outside, full wall designs allow the homeowner to immerse themselves completely in a natural setting, from a beach to a woodland.”

We love the idea of full wall murals to truly embrace the ‘naturescapes’ aesthetic, but if that doesn’t work for you why not consider window blinds that feature natural elements, including leaf prints, florals and calming tones.

Blinds in our LightLine® Roller blinds collection allow you to customise the blind’s panel segments, choose pattern and colour or both, for a wonderfully bespoke product.

Kitschens

Kitschy kitchens are set to be big in 2024 according to Pinterest’s report. Think clashing prints and eclectic kitchen décor (a search that Pinterest says is up 50%).

We have the patterns and prints for you to go to town on this trend, from florals to abstract designs, anything goes.

Delve into our Roller blinds sample books and find a print that works in your space, we’ve got a whole page dedicated to patterned roller blinds if you’re in need of some more inspiration.

Want to dip your toes into the trend? Incorporate a few fun and inexpensive accessories in your kitchen - the more they clash the better!

Western Gothic

Dark and moody hues are often overlooked for fear of looking too harsh, but when incorporated in the right way they can really make an impact.

Western Gothic is one of Pinterest’s home predictions for 2024. From colour drenched walls to bold dark furniture - are you ready to jump into this trend?

Window coverings can help to bring this theme alive. Our custom black blinds showcase a range of styles from soft, flowing fabric options to sleek metallic and wood designs with clean lines.

Cafécore

Forget heading to your favourite coffee spot, 2024 is the time to create a coffee-shop vibe at home. Love your specialty coffee order? The Cafécore trend is the one for you.

Pinterest adds: “At-home coffee stations
will become the new way to espresso yourself” evident with searches on their platform for everything from ‘café chalkboard’ aesthetic to ‘coffee station décor'.

Take the trend to the next level with Café Shutters for a truly continental feel in your kitchen. Allow natural light in at the top of your windows while maximising privacy at the bottom.

A great solution for kitchen windows - this classic window covering comes in different natural wood stains or painted looks, with faux-wood water-resistant options for kitchens and bathrooms.
